Description of content and objectives

Confindustria Bergamo, with the participation of lecturers from Deloitte, Ergo (a spin-off of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa) and KPMG, is organising a second series of webinars dedicated to sustainability and related reporting processes.

The initiative aims to support both companies subject to the CSRD in fulfilling their regulatory obligations and companies that must meet specific requirements from their clients, lenders and other stakeholder categories.

Unlike the first series of webinars, “Sustainability: challenges and opportunities for the future of companies”, this second series is aimed at providing technical information and more operational and practical guidance for accurate and comprehensive reporting and is structured based on the requirements set out in the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

The following topics will be covered:

  • environmental, social and governance aspects;
  • the materiality assessment process according to the principle of double materiality, which is the preliminary step for sustainability reporting;
  • the obligations, process and methods for engaging the value chain;
  • the requirements and opportunities related to EU Taxonomy Regulation 2022/852.

Pending the Legislative Decree transposing Directive 2022/2464 (CSRD) (expected in early July) and the final version of the “Implementation Guidance” regarding double materiality assessment and value chain engagement, the webinar series will initially address environmental issues in order to accompany and support member companies in this process in a timely manner.

Programme

The schedule for the first six webinars with the lecturers from Ergo is as follows:

  • 14 May 2024 - ESRS E5: how to design effective strategies for resource efficiency and the circular economy
  • 28 May 2024 - ESRS E5 Resource use and circular economy: key indicators, metrics and reporting tools
  • 4 June 2024 - ESRS E5 Resource use and circular economy: synergies between reporting and corporate management systems
  • 11 June 2024 - ESRS E2 Pollution: policies and methods for reporting impacts, risks and opportunities
  • 18 June 2024 - ESRS E3 Water and marine resources: water footprint, water circularity and ecosystem services
  • 25 June 2024 - ESRS E4 Nature, Biodiversity and ecosystems: what is the relationship with my company’s business?

From mid-September to early November, with lecturers from Deloitte and KPMG, we will explore the topics of climate change (ESRS E1), social issues (ESRS S), governance aspects (ESRS G1) and cross-cutting standards (ESRS 1, ESRS 2), as well as the obligations and opportunities related to the EU Taxonomy and the Legislative Decree transposing Directive 2022/2464 (CSRD).

All webinars will be held from 14:30 to 16:30 on the Zoom platform.
