The Family Meetings are a series of sessions designed to encourage knowledge sharing among family businesses, explore current issues through a managerial lens, analyse successful experiences, and identify potential solutions.
The session "Open Innovation: innovating with an open model" will take place on 8 April at 17:00, in person, at Assolombarda (Via Pantano 9, Milan).
Does the tradition-innovation paradox still hold relevance for family businesses?
Are risk aversion, a conservative mindset, the "power of the past", and the constraints imposed by emotional ties that characterise family firms still barriers to innovation today?
In reality, many family businesses are now highly innovative by adopting open innovation strategies. By opening their doors to collaboration with external partners, such as universities, start-ups, and other firms, companies can access ideas and processes already developed by others, accelerating their own innovation efforts while sharing their own expertise.
Assolombarda will discuss this with industry experts and companies that have successfully pursued, or are currently pursuing, the path of innovation.
