Description of content and objectives

In implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/633, at the end of 2021, Italy adopted a system to combat unfair trading practices in relationships between suppliers and buyers of agricultural and food products and their derivatives.

Legislative Decree no. 198 of 8 November 2021 specifically regulates:

  • the requirements that contracts between parties in the agri-food supply chain must meet in terms of form, execution methods, and duration
  • the payment terms to be observed
  • the commercial practices considered prohibited
  • the penalties for supply chain operators who engage in prohibited practices.

To explore these issues and the legal and compliance implications for agri-food companies, the Tax and Corporate Law department of Confindustria Bergamo, in collaboration with Confindustria Lombardia, is organising this event.

Following opening remarks by Giuseppe Mele, President of the Food Category at Confindustria Bergamo, speakers will include Alessandro Cainelli, partner at CMA Studio Legale Caffi Maroncelli e Associati, and Raffaele Moschen, founding partner of Moschen & Associati. The session will be moderated by Giorgio Facheris of the Tax and Corporate Law department at Confindustria Bergamo.
