The Building Technologies and Materials Group of Confindustria Bergamo, in collaboration with the Municipality of Bergamo, the Angelo Mai Civic Library, and the Quarenghi Observatory, is hosting the event "Patrons of Enterprise: Giacomo Quarenghi - If you know where you come from, you know where you are going," to be held on Thursday, 16 April at 18:00 in the evocative setting of gres art 671.
An event dedicated to the figure of Giacomo Quarenghi, a leading light of European Neoclassicism and an extraordinary ambassador of Bergamo’s talent worldwide. An internationally renowned architect, rigorous designer, and tireless innovator, Quarenghi successfully combined creative vision with technical discipline, beauty with functionality, and local roots with a global outlook. A journey that also speaks the language of business.
Like a contemporary entrepreneur, Quarenghi built his success on expertise, reputation, and the ability to operate in complex environments; he exported know-how, managed major projects, coordinated workforces and supply chains, and generated lasting value through method, quality, and responsibility.
Drawing on his experience, the meeting will offer a cross-disciplinary perspective on the relationship between design culture and business culture, construction tradition and technological innovation, and identity and international vision.
High-profile guests will speak, exploring the many facets of Quarenghi’s work and highlighting the affinities and points of contact with the business world.
