Description of content and objectives

Confindustria and ABI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Economic Development, are organising a business mission to the Czech Republic, led by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio Di Stefano.

The mission aims to explore new economic and commercial opportunities arising from the Czech government's adoption of the Innovation Strategy of the Czech Republic 2019–2030 programme.

KEY SECTORS OF THE MISSION

The mission will be multi-sectoral, with a focus on the following areas:

• Industry 4.0
• Mobility, security and civil protection
• Energy efficiency
• Aerospace

WHY PARTICIPATE

In 2018, the Czech Republic confirmed the stability of its main macroeconomic indicators with a steady GDP growth rate. Through its innovation strategy, the Government aims to make the Czech Republic one of the most innovative countries in Europe, placing emphasis on research funding, which is set to reach 2.5% of GDP by 2025 and 3% by 2030. The pursuit of innovative development is therefore a cross-cutting issue across all sectors, offering attractive commercial and economic prospects for foreign counterparts.

Programme

The programme is attached and includes arrival in Prague on 16 July, where a business briefing will take place in the late afternoon, followed by the business forum on 17 July, which will include sectoral sessions and business meetings.

The working language will be English.

ORGANISATION AND LOGISTICS

Participation in the mission is free of charge; travel and accommodation expenses are to be borne by each participant, who must make their own flight and hotel bookings.
