The meeting aims to illustrate to businesses the opportunities for using 3D printing for metallic and polymeric materials, starting from concrete examples of applications of currently available technologies, while also looking at potential future developments and the use of increasingly high-performance materials. In addition to focusing on the manufacturing sector, the use of additive technologies in the biomedical and civil engineering sectors will be presented, through the 3D printing of concrete elements.
The workshop includes contributions from members of the Computational Mechanics (CompMech) group as well as other professors from the University of Pavia.
A guided tour of the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture's prototyping laboratories will follow, concluding with a networking session.
