Description of content and objectives

The meeting, which will open with an address by Confindustria Lombardia President Alberto Ribolla, aims to reaffirm the Government of Québec's commitment to strengthening economic and business ties with stakeholders in Milan and Lombardy. In particular, Premier Philippe Couillard will outline Québec's key economic priorities and the resulting investment opportunities.

The "Plan Nord" is a development project for Québec's northern territory (covering 1.2 million square kilometres), leveraging its mining, energy, and forestry potential. The project requires the development and improvement of road, rail, and maritime networks, as well as telecommunications infrastructure, and will be supported by a scientific research centre providing the expertise for sustainable development in the region.

The second major project to be presented is the "Maritime Strategy," which aims to enhance the St. Lawrence maritime route, establishing it as a hub for transatlantic trade. To achieve this, the Government of Québec is committed to establishing a logistics hub in the Greater Montréal area and ensuring the integration of road and rail infrastructure.

Companies and economic institutions operating or holding interests in these sectors are the primary audience for this presentation.
