As part of the "Frontiers of Innovation" series, the Industrial Union of the Province of Varese, in collaboration with the Lombardy Aerospace Cluster, is offering two short courses on Design-Driven Innovation, where design is understood as a means of communicating innovation and understanding new technologies, cultural trends, and business models.
The topic was addressed in the European project Design for Enterprises, a three-year training programme delivered by D’Appolonia, MiP Politecnico di Milano, and ADI (Association for Industrial Design), aimed primarily at small and medium-sized enterprises.
The programme focuses on design as a key factor in corporate development strategies within the global market. Design does not merely refer to the formal appearance of products and services; it involves the use of new and traditional materials, new production tools and processes, and innovative approaches to effectively meet customer needs.
The short courses will address two topics:
· how future technological and socio-cultural trends will define competitive dynamics;
· how to improve products through efficient design.
These sessions will not only provide information and training; central to the organisation of the meetings is the opportunity for participants to interact directly with lecturers and speakers, fostering ongoing discussion rather than simple lectures.
The second short course will focus on 'Lean Product Development', presented by Professor Sergio Terzi of the Department of Management Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano.
To participate, please register online via the Varese Industrial Union website.
