Description of content and objectives

Incoterms are the common language of international commercial transactions, clearly and unambiguously defining the allocation of obligations in the transfer of goods between seller and buyer. They are defined by the International Chamber of Commerce and are revised every 10 years to adapt to developments in trade.

The topics to be covered during this meeting are:

• Incoterms® of the International Chamber of Commerce as supplementary terms to the international sales contract;
• obligations governed by Incoterms®: the allocation of costs, risks, and responsibilities between seller and buyer;
• rules for different modes of transport, specifically for sea transport;
• the new Incoterms® 2020 version: what has changed?;
• an examination of individual Incoterms® in light of the new 2020 version;
• critical issues and points of attention regarding Incoterms® 2020;
• the impact of Incoterms® 2020 on sales, shipping, transport, and cargo insurance contracts;
• the impact of Incoterms® 2020 on customs, documentation, and payment aspects;
• how to choose the most suitable ICC Incoterm®.
