Description of content and objectives

Confindustria Lombardia, as part of the Enterprise Europe Network activities and within the context of the 4th Regional Forum for Sustainable Development, is organising the webinar “Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism - New import obligations from 1 October 2023”, scheduled for Thursday 21 September 2023 from 15:30 to 17:30.

Il webinar intende illustrare il meccanismo di adeguamento del carbonio alle frontiere denominato Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) che prevede l’introduzione di numerosi obblighi di comunicazione, di tenuta contabile, di autorizzazione, di registrazione e di complianceper gli importatori di cemento, energia elettrica, concimi, ghisa, ferro, acciaio, alluminio e idrogeno.

Indeed, from 1 October 2023 importers are required to comply with specific calculation and reporting obligations, to which, from 1 January 2026, the obligation to submit an annual declaration and purchase a number of CBAM certificates to cover the emissions embedded in imported products will be added.
