The term "artificial intelligence" has existed since the 1950s, but today it carries new economic and political characteristics: in the technological war between the United States and China; in the race for the material and human resources required for its development; and in the acceleration of its adoption across various industrial sectors. This will be the focus of the second meeting in the "Breakfast Brief: Geopolitics, Technology and Markets" series. The event will feature Alessandro Aresu, Scientific Advisor to Limes, the Italian Review of Geopolitics, and author of the book "Geopolitica dell'intelligenza artificiale", which also serves as the event's title. This discussion is part of an initiative by Confindustria Varese and the Young Entrepreneurs Group to provide businesses with insights into a global landscape increasingly shaped by geopolitical, technological, and market disruptions, as well as the reorganisation of production supply chains.
This initiative is part of the "Clusters and Supply Chains" and "Innovation Ecosystem" strategic projects under the #Varese2050 Plan. It features speakers including geopolitical analysts, economists, researchers, and experts in innovation, digital development, and energy, as well as specialists in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and international markets.
The format consists of short, informal discussion sessions lasting a maximum of ninety minutes, held in the early morning.
