Description of content and objectives

Following its 2016 General Assembly, AFIL has organised a public event entitled “The Lombardy manufacturing system in the new European value chains”.

In addition to an address by the President of AFIL – Lombardy Intelligent Factory Association – Stefano Scaglia, the event will feature the participation of the President of the National Intelligent Factory Technology Cluster, Gianluigi Viscardi, and keynote speaker Jan Larosse from DG REGIO (the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy).

Jan Larosse was one of the key promoters of the Vanguard Initiative, which marked a turning point in industrial participation in shaping the future of the manufacturing sector at a European level.

Following the international guest's address, the initiatives already underway at AFIL to involve its membership base in the new European value chains will be presented.
