'New Deals': the infectious courage of the Young Entrepreneurs

Sirmione, 6 October 2017– Today, the Villa Cortine Palace Hotel in Sirmione hosted ‘New Deals – Courage 4.0’, an event organised in collaboration with the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Lombardia. Now in its second year, the event successfully brought to the attention of regional and national leaders several issues identified by the Young Entrepreneurs as priorities for the near future, under the specific keyword: ‘Courage 4.0’. Courage as a modus operandi: in life, in business decisions, in society, and in politics.

During New Deals, ‘Courage 4.0’ was explored across various areas of social life that are of particular importance to the Young Entrepreneurs. As Federico Ghidini, President of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Lombardia, stated, “This is the time to shape our future and take responsibility for making courageous choices. Young people are natural carriers of courage, but this is too often stifled by other factors, rendering those who should be flooding our society with ideas and positive energy passive. For this reason, I was determined to showcase on the New Deals stage three Italian manufacturing startups that have created solid, successful businesses through crowdfunding,” concluded Federico Ghidini.

The theme of New Deals 2017 focused on “looking beyond” and embracing change with attention, passion, and a clear desire to anticipate new scenarios. Stories of courage were shared by psychiatrist Paolo Crepet and economist Gustavo Piga. The roundtable on generational coexistence featured Antonio and Augusto Gozzi, as well as Lara Botta, Vice President of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria, and Giandomenico Auricchio. There was great anticipation for the speech by George Guido Lombardi, one of the world’s best-known social media consultants, fresh from the successful election campaign of US President Donald Trump.

The focus on startups within the ‘Courageous Youth’ panel also generated significant interest: Me Scooter, Glass Up and Wise Neuro shared their success stories, which have established them as some of the most compelling young ventures in the Italian business landscape.

A call for young people to take charge of their future also came from the political and industrial spheres during the closing roundtable, which featured a discussion between regional councillors Mauro Parolini and Valentina Aprea and the President of Confindustria Lombardia, Alberto Ribolla.

The event concluded with closing remarks from the President of the Brescia Industrial Association, Giuseppe Pasini, and the host, Federico Ghidini, who thanked all the participants and partners of this edition, from institutions to special guests, and acknowledged the support provided by the Young Entrepreneurs group of Confindustria Lombardia.

Further information on New Deals, which was organised with the contribution and support of several companies (Sei Consulting, Vendor, AON, Bonera Mercedes Benz, Eolo, Gara Perizie, Intertecnica, Deloitte, Allianz Bank, Aske-Network to Communicate, Cope, Officina Preziosi and Cà Maiol), is available on the website:www.newdealsirmione.it.
