The Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs launch a challenge: a pact to face the challenges of the future
Milan, 9 November 2016 - “New Deals”, a new course: a more fitting and relevant name could not have been chosen for the concept of this two-day event, which will be held on 18 and 19 November 2016 in Sirmione, strongly supported by the Confindustria Lombardia Young Entrepreneurs Group in collaboration with all the regional branches.
At the heart of the proceedings are the scenarios awaiting society and the world of work and production over the next 10 years, with strong and, in a sense, courageous content, in an attempt to offer the audience something different and useful. The goal is to use workshops and meetings to identify factors that can create networks to facilitate the dissemination and sharing of entrepreneurial knowledge and expertise, with a view to intelligent development.
The core of the initiative will be the conference on Saturday 19 November, which will feature speeches from speakers such as Gabriele Grecchi (CEO of Silk Biomaterials), Stefano Boeri (Stefano Boeri Architetti), Carlo Purassanta (CEO of Microsoft), Alessandro Cremonesi (ST Microelectronics - Group VP, Central Lab General Manager), Leonardo Rubattu (General Manager of Iccrea Banca) and Renato Mazzoncini (CEO of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane).
Before and after them, moderated by Dario Laruffa, there will be contributions from representatives of political institutions (such as the President of the Lombardy Region, Roberto Maroni, or the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Enrico Zanetti) and industry (such as Alberto Ribolla and Marco Gay, presidents of Confindustria Lombardia and the national Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria, respectively).
During the first hundred days of the Roosevelt presidency (March 1933 - June 1933), hundreds of anti-crisis measures, both large and small, were launched. This is the fil rouge of the initiative: to try to understand the many small changes that will define the entrepreneurial fate of the next ten years.
For Federico Ghidini - Regional President of the Confindustria Lombardia Young Entrepreneurs and curator of the event – «the New Deals Sirmione conference aims to act as a trade union between entrepreneurship, institutions, economic actors and civil society to give a “visionary” meaning to the next 10 years, thinking not only of the near future but also of that of our children».
Why Sirmione? «We chose Sirmione for its history and culture. The “pearl of Lake Garda” is known all over the world». A symbolic meeting point between the event's location and its content will be the “Radura” installation created by Stefano Boeri Architetti in collaboration with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the FVG Wood Supply Chain, which brings together various companies that form the fundamental links in the structural wood processing chain of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Consorzio Innova FVG, a public economic entity dedicated to the development of the mountain territory. The project, which can be visited free of charge in the central Piazza Carducci and which will be inaugurated during “New Deals” on Friday 18 November, represents a new idea of public space, replicable in other urban areas around the world”.
«May these days be a discussion on the difficult points of today, those on the frontier between the social responsibility of business and political intervention in choosing a new and profitable direction. A discussion without closures or discrimination, to arrive at a stable and shared system», concludes Francesco Ghedini.
New Deals - Sirmione was organised with the contribution of a number of companies: BCC Credito Cooperativo, Deloitte, Synergie, Vendor, IQS, Sireco, Saving, Staufen, Bonera Mercedes-Benz, ASKE-Network to Communicate, Eusider, Cà Maiol, Frigerio Viaggi, Eolo, Filiera Legno FVG.
