Mission to San Francisco and Silicon Valley, a deep dive into innovation for Lombardy businesses

Apple, LinkedIn and Stanford University among the stops on the tour organised by Confindustria Lombardia

Milan, 03 April 2017 – The mission 'San Francisco and Silicon Valley: a deep dive into innovation', organised by Confindustria Lombardia, departs for California tomorrow.

The mission will conclude on 10 April and includes twenty activities for the delegation, which consists of approximately forty people including entrepreneurs, academics and representatives of the Confindustria Lombardia system, ranging from company meetings to lectures and workshops.

During the tour, the delegation will have the opportunity to experience US business and innovation first-hand, to better understand the secrets and factors that drive the success of startups, companies and multinationals within the Silicon Valley ecosystem, and to experience the Industry 4.0 development model on the West Coast from the inside.

Among the most fascinating stops on the mission are undoubtedly the meeting at LinkedIn, the professional networking site recently acquired by Microsoft, the visit to Stanford University, during which the integration between American universities and industry will be explored, and, last but not least, the meeting at Apple

with a visit to the Infinite Loop Campus and a working session on the global vision of the Cupertino-based company.

The President of the Lombardy Region, Roberto Maroni, is also expected to attend some of the most significant stops on the tour.

It will be possible to follow the Lombard delegation's tour on social media using the hashtag #LombardyUSA.
