Matteo Dell'Acqua is the new President of the Confindustria Lombardia Young Entrepreneurs

The entrepreneur, born in 1989, has been unanimously elected by the Regional Committee

Sirmione, 15 September 2018 – The Regional Committee of the Confindustria Lombardia Young Entrepreneurs Group has today unanimously elected Matteo Dell’Acqua as President for the 2018-21 three-year term.

Born in 1989 and a graduate in Economics of Markets and Financial Intermediaries, Matteo Dell’Acqua is the CEO of Lavplast, a family business based in San Vittore Olona that operates in the plastic extrusion sector, manufacturing PVC pipes, sheaths, and flexible profiles. Dell’Acqua is also the owner of COMEC in Cuneo, one of Italy’s leading companies for the distribution of pneumatic and hydraulic pipes and fittings.

He joined the Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs in 2013. From 2015 to 2017, he served as Vice President of the Confindustria Alto Milanese Group and was a member of the Confindustria European Technical Committee. He is currently Vice President of YES for EUROPE, the confederation of business associations that brings together over 40,000 young entrepreneurs from the 14 member states of the European Union or candidate countries.

“In recent years, much has been done to promote entrepreneurship and innovation as credible responses to the difficult challenges our economic system has had to face. During my term, I would like to share with the Young Entrepreneurs of Lombardy the responsibility of continuing to promote these themes, applying them to the realities in which we operate,” stated the newly elected president of the Lombardy Young Entrepreneurs Matteo Dell’Acqua.

“Particular attention will be paid to promoting the culture of scale-ups and the circular economy, new trends that require a change in the way we do business, but which offer the opportunity to improve processes and generate new development. To face European and global competition, I am convinced that the entrepreneur and the company must grow together; therefore, training programmes to help today’s young people, and those preparing to enter this profession tomorrow, to maximise their talent will be central to our activities. Building on the legacy of Lombardy’s great industrial tradition, we will seek to innovate it, creating value for society as a whole,” concluded the new president of the Confindustria Lombardia Young Entrepreneurs Matteo Dell’Acqua.

Dell’Acqua succeeds Federico Ghidini, who held the position of president of the Lombardy Young Entrepreneurs from 2015 to 2018. The Ghidini presidency was marked by a strong focus on training and work-study programmes, as well as the organisation of the first three editions of New Deals, a benchmark event for the Lombard and national industrial system, with particular attention to the world of startups and youth entrepreneurship.
