Students from the "Carlo Donegani" scientific secondary school in Sondrio are the winners of the 23rd edition of the business simulation game organised by the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Lombardia
Milan, 11 April 2015 – The final of the
Management Game 2015, the business simulation game promoted by the Regional Committee of the
Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Lombardia and reserved for fourth-year students, took place on Saturday at the SIAM 1838 headquarters in Milan.
The 2015 edition saw the participation of 58 schools and 532 teams, totalling
2,128 Lombard students. 9 territorial associations of
Confindustria Lombardia took part in the simulation game.
The winners, awarded by the regional Education committee, are students from the ‘Carlo Donegani’ scientific secondary school in Sondrio: Simone Bonfiglio, Claudia Pedrotti and Francesca Donnini.
Second and third place went to students from the ‘Giovanni Falcone’ higher education institute in Asola (Mantua) and students from the ‘Carlo
Dell’Acqua’ higher education institute in Legnano, respectively.
“It is through semi-recreational activities like this that the future Lombard entrepreneurial class begins to take shape. Who hasn't started to cultivate a passion simply by playing?
The goal of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Lombardia is precisely to introduce young people to business, and hopefully inspire a passion for it, through play.
Without forgetting fundamental components of an entrepreneur's daily activities, such as competitiveness and relationship management,” explained
Stefano Poliani, President of the Regional Committee of the Young Entrepreneurs
of Confindustria Lombardia.
In the Management Game, young students have the opportunity to simulate the management of a company using online software, making responsible decisions and verifying the results.
The criterion used this year to evaluate performance was the ‘total annual cumulative shareholder return’, a criterion that allowed the winning team to be selected based on the greatest positive deviation from the average shareholder return in each market.
The final of the business simulation tournament, the last of the three stages of the competition, took
place between the nine schools that won the previous rounds, in which teams competed based on
a territorial and provincial breakdown.
