Statement by the President of Confindustria Lombardia, Alberto Ribolla
Crema, 4 November 2015 – At this historical juncture, it is essential to provide a vision and a strategy, provided they remain aligned with the priorities of those we represent. In the current climate of globalisation, the local region is playing an increasingly significant role; for this reason, Confindustria Lombardia is fully aware of the needs of its businesses and territories. We are focused on business development, opportunities to enter new markets, networking, and creating synergies.
Most issues and decisions concerning industry are now determined at an EU level and subsequently transposed by individual states; consequently, maintaining a presence in Brussels has become the natural outlet for our policies and the interests of our businesses. With this in mind, and as part of a renewal of our representative role, Confindustria Lombardia has focused on a range of tools to ensure the competitiveness of Lombardy's businesses, including clusters and the Enterprise Europe Network, integrating them into a broader, long-term strategy.
