Jobs Act: National Agency for Employment must not sacrifice regional good practices

Statement by Alberto Ribolla, President of Confindustria Lombardia

Milan, 30 January 2015 – “We share the need to bring active labour policies back to a national and unified perspective without, however, ‘sacrificing’ regional autonomy,” states the President of Confindustria Lombardia, Alberto Ribolla. “While it is essential for the National Agency to provide precise guidance regarding active policies, it is equally important not to lose the good practices established at a local level.”

“It therefore seems reasonable to us,” adds Alberto Ribolla, “that once the essential levels of service are defined, the Agency should take on a strategic steering role, allowing regions that are performing well to work autonomously, while stepping in where inefficiencies arise. This should apply even more so to professional training, for which recent constitutional reform guidelines suggest centralisation at a national level.”
