Industry 4.0: finalists of the World Manufacturing Forum video contest

The winner will be announced on 27/09 at the Cernobbio meeting and will receive a €5,000 prize.

Last March, ahead of its Annual Meeting ‘Manufacturing Revolution to Promote Global Resilience - How the Industrial Transformation Inspires Education, Sustainable Development and Societal Impact’ (27–28 September, Cernobbio), the World Manufacturing Forum launched a video contest to promote business culture and the central role of manufacturing. Twenty participants entered the competition, including videographers, freelancers, technical institutes, and creative industry professionals, notably from the United States, Turkey, Italy, and the Philippines. From these, the jury, composed of the WMF Foundation Board, selected the three finalists to be voted on by attendees at the WMF Annual Meeting.

According to WMF Foundation President Alberto Ribolla, “The first edition of the video contest can already be considered a success, both in terms of numbers and cultural impact: 20 artists and videographers from around the world have provided their interpretation of Industry 4.0, and as this is the inaugural edition, we are very satisfied. Furthermore, the messages within these videos and the use of certain clips will allow us to more effectively disseminate the concept of intelligent manufacturing across the board, reaching both sectors that are well-prepared and those currently less involved in the digitalisation of industrial processes. The subjective interpretation of this phenomenon by these creatives has greatly enriched our experience. On 27 September, with the voting by participants at the Cernobbio Annual Meeting, the initiative will receive ‘official certification’ from a high-profile international audience,” concluded Alberto Ribolla.

The three finalists are:

- 'The 4th Industrial revolution, a medical perspective' by Yuri Tegas - ITALY:

- 'Youth & Technology' by Alex Oh - USA:

- 'Here and now' by Simon Rivera - USA:

The finalist videos will be broadcast via the Class CNBC channel and the web magazine EconomyUp, two of the World Manufacturing Forum's media partners. The winner will be awarded a €5,000 prize on the evening of 27 September, at the end of the first day of the Annual Meeting.
