Confindustria and the Digital Innovation Hub have organised an in-depth seminar on tools, technologies and support for businesses undergoing digital transformation
Lomazzo, 15 May 2018 – The Lombardy leg of “Industry 4.0 – Prepare for the Future. Operational tools, technologies and support services for businesses” was held today at the Comonext headquarters in Lomazzo (Como). This project, devised by Confindustria, consists of 18 meetings held across the country.
The roadshow aims to explore topics related to Industry 4.0 through meetings focused on the incentives provided by the Industry 4.0 Plan and a detailed look at the practical meaning of the ‘fourth industrial revolution’, analysing the innovations affecting corporate organisation and production processes.
“Today’s event is an important step in the process of raising awareness among businesses about the opportunities that can be seized through digitalisation, and Industry 4.0 in particular. Today, we presented the initial regional results of the digital maturity assessment of Lombardy-based companies, an activity coordinated by the Digital Innovation Hub Lombardia in close collaboration with local branches, which will continue for some time. The first findings from the survey – explains Gianluigi Viscardi, President of the Digital Innovation Hub Lombardia – highlight an interesting level of maturity regarding the factory environment, thanks to super/hyper-depreciation measures, while there is significant room for improvement in other processes along the value chain. Knowing the starting point is a key element in building the most suitable transformation path. The DIH Lombardia is available to all companies wishing to initiate digitalisation processes, with the aim of creating added value for businesses,” concluded Gianluigi Viscardi.
For Fabio Porro, President of Unindustria Como, “the fourth industrial revolution is an epochal challenge that we must be prepared for. Thanks to Confindustria, the Industry 4.0 Plan has finally placed the topic of innovation at the heart of Italian industrial policy. Incentive tools have stimulated investment in technology. However, Industry 4.0 does not just mean tax relief: it is a new way of thinking about business, a cultural revolution that must lead us to transform our factories. In this regard, the network of Digital Innovation Hubs, such as ComoNExT, is fundamental to meeting the training, support and consultancy needs that companies express in order to face this renewal process and compete on a global scale,” emphasises Porro.
The Lombardy leg, organised by Confindustria in collaboration with Comonext, Digital Innovation Hub Lombardia, Sistemi Formativi Confindustria and Unindustria Como, was attended by over 100 qualified companies and was fully booked.
Following introductory remarks by Fabio Porro, President of Unindustria Como, Enrico Lironi, President of ComoNEXT – Innovation Hub, and Fabrizio Gea, Head of National Coordination for the Confindustria Digital Innovation Hub, the following speakers took part, moderated by Il Sole 24 Ore journalist Luca Orlando: Elio Catania, President of Confindustria Digitale; Andrea Bianchi, Director of the Industrial Policy Department at Confindustria; Giuseppe Linati, Director of DIH Lombardia; Stefano Soliano, Director of ComoNExT - Innovation Hub; Leonardo Quattrocchi, Manager and Lecturer in Business Development at Luiss Guido Carli University; Gianluigi Viscardi, President of DIH Lombardia and President of the “Fabbrica Intelligente” National Technological Cluster; Florinda Ravazzani, HR Manager at RPE Srl Solenoid valves; and Sergio Capelli, HR Senior Business Partner at Vodafone Automotive.
