Businesses moving towards Industry 4.0: where do we stand?

Viscardi, President of Digital Innovation Hub Lombardia: ecosystems add value to businesses

Marco Taisch - Politecnico di Milano, President of Competence Center MADE, Gianluigi Viscardi - President of DIH Lombardia and President of Cosberg Spa, Giuseppe Linati - Director of DIH Lombardia and Ennio Manzi - Italfinance CCA were the key speakers at the meeting organised today, 26 June, by Confindustria Lecco and Sondrio and the Digital Innovation Hub Lombardia at the Association's Lecco headquarters.

The meeting, titled Focus Industry 4.0. Taking Stock, introduced by the President of Confindustria Lecco and Sondrio, Lorenzo Riva, also served as a side event for the 2019 edition of the World Manufacturing Forum, scheduled from 25 to 27 September in Cernobbio (Villa Erba).

“The digital transformation of businesses has been underway for some time now,” Lorenzo Riva highlighted, “but how far have we come? Today’s meeting aims to answer this question by discussing concrete applications, the skills essential for implementing Industry 4.0, as well as incentives, grants, and the activities of the Digital Innovation Hub Lombardia, for which we act as a local antenna, supporting many companies with various tools and services tailored to their specific needs.”

Digital Innovation Hub Lombardia President Gianluigi Viscardi expressed his satisfaction: “Among the many points raised during the meeting, I would like to highlight one that is particularly important to me. Today, we demonstrated the value of an ecosystem in two key ways: from an organisational perspective, as this is a side event of the World Manufacturing Forum where the Confindustria Lombardia, Confindustria Lecco and Sondrio, and DIH Lombardia ecosystem coordinated the need to organise this meeting and encouraged local participation; and secondly, the ecosystem involving DIH Lombardia and the Competence Center MADE, which, as we have heard, are the primary organisations that can and must assist our companies—especially our SMEs—in the increasingly necessary planning required to implement digital transformation across all areas.”
