Statement by the President of Confindustria Lombardia, Alberto Ribolla

“Confindustria Lombardia welcomes the government’s intervention, which allows Ilva and Fincantieri to restart production, and the speed with which the Council of Ministers acted to address a legal loophole that had, once again, led to an anti-industry interpretation,” commented Confindustria Lombardia President Alberto Ribolla.

“It is important,” Ribolla emphasised, “to safeguard workplace safety and comply with environmental directives, but it is even more important to protect those who produce, as this also protects investments and jobs. Especially in the current climate, where industry is doing its utmost to recover and lead Italy out of the crisis.”
