DIGITAL & EXPORT BUSINESS SCHOOL, the internationalisation masterclass for Lombardy SMEs

UniCredit, Assolombarda Confindustria Milano Monza e Brianza, and Confindustria Lombardia join forces in Monza for training

Monza, 17 November 2016 – Three days of meetings, organised by UniCredit in collaboration with Assolombarda Confindustria Milano Monza e Brianza and Confindustria Lombardia, were held to discuss strategies, best practices, market knowledge, and operational tools to support growth in foreign markets. UniCredit chose Monza to host the Export Business School 2016, a training programme organised in partnership with Assolombarda and Confindustria Lombardia, focusing on business internationalisation for approximately 100 small and medium-sized enterprises. The aim is to provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to gain insights and learn about useful tools to support their international business strategy, leveraging digital opportunities to redefine web marketing and online sales strategies, and identifying effective and competitive methods for export and internationalisation.

The Digital & Export Business School is a training masterclass organised by UniCredit, dedicated to exports, internationalisation processes, and the dissemination of digital tools to support market knowledge. As part of the broader UniCredit training programme, GO INTERNATIONAL!, the Digital & Export Business School is offered to companies free of charge. It is organised over three days, featuring external lecturers and contributions from internal trainers who provide in-depth analysis and testimonials on key topics for businesses looking to enter or strengthen their position in foreign markets. It is open to companies from all sectors across Lombardy. In this edition, an entire day is dedicated to digitalisation, web marketing strategies, and e-commerce.

The three-day training course opened on Tuesday, 15 November, with addresses from Giorgio Cavallaro, Area Manager for Monza and Brianza at UniCredit, Silvia Pagani, Secretary General of Confindustria Lombardia, and Giovanna Neffat, Head of Business Development & Client Protection at UniCredit. Following this, the approximately 100 companies attended sessions on ‘Launching a business project in foreign markets’ by Giuliano Noci, Deputy Rector of the Politecnico di Milano, while Hanane Yessou from Google spoke on “Digital tools for foreign market analysis”. Finally, Sara Scurati and Gabriele Battipaglia from UniCredit spoke on the topic: “The operational plan and the Business Plan”.

Wednesday, 16 November, focused on “The new challenges of Web Marketing”, followed by a session on “Opportunities and strategies for e-commerce” by Aleandro Mencherini of Var Group, while Francesco Balacco from Facebook illustrated “The role of Social Networks in web marketing”. The discussion on the experience of the VIVINO Italy srl community, led by Italy Country Manager Mauro Bricolo, provided an in-depth reflection on the potential of the internet to grow one's business.

Finally, on Thursday, 17 November, the closing day was dedicated to the topic “Contracts, payment techniques, and financing in international trade”. Speakers included: Paolo Gallarati of Studio NCTM; Eligio Seggioli, Gtb Italy Center Region Centro Nord at UniCredit; and Marino Inio of the UniCredit International Center Italy. The final round table involved two companies, Travaglini spa and Engitec Technologies, as well as Giorgio Cavallaro, Area Manager for Monza and Brianza at UniCredit, and Chiara Fanali, Head of Internationalisation and Business Strategy at Assolombarda Confindustria Milano Monza e Brianza.
