In 2026, Lombardy’s territories will host four stages featuring diplomatic representatives from prospect countries
Milan, 11 December 2025 – Fostering targeted meetings between Lombard companies and strategic countries, creating concrete opportunities for dialogue and cooperation, and developing commercial prospects in international markets: these are the primary objectives of the Roadshow that Confindustria Lombardia will organise across Lombardy in 2026 in collaboration with the Consular Corps. The initiative was presented today during the Confindustria Lombardia Presidential Council meeting, in the presence of the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps of Milan and Lombardy, Veronica Crego, and the Consular Corps of Milan and Lombardy.
“The current, ever-changing global landscape requires companies to rethink their internationalisation strategies. It is from this necessity, as well as the valuable insights provided by Lombard companies in the Internationalisation Survey, that Confindustria Lombardia’s initiative was born. Lombardy, which is close to setting a new export record in 2025 (82 billion in the first half of the year), with its highly innovative and industrialised territories, diverse production specialisations, and one of the most competitive public-private systems in Europe, has much to offer international partners in terms of mutual growth and development,” stated the President of Confindustria Lombardia, Giuseppe Pasini, during the Roadshow presentation.
The Roadshow will consist of several stages organised throughout the Lombardy region during the 2026-2027 period, each dedicated to a specific theme, including: advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence and innovation, mechanical engineering, aerospace, energy, fashion & technical textiles, and the construction sector.
The countries featured in the roadshow will be the ten prospect countries for 2025-28 identified in Confindustria Lombardia’s 2025 Internationalisation Survey titled ‘The impact of geopolitics on the strategies of Lombard companies’: the United States, Germany, India, the United Arab Emirates, France, Canada, Brazil, Spain, China, and Saudi Arabia.
“The Consular Corps of Milan and Lombardy performs an essential function in regional economic diplomacy: it acts as a strategic bridge between our countries and the economic and institutional fabric of this region, which offers us fertile ground for concrete exchanges in the economic and entrepreneurial spheres. In this context, the synergy with Confindustria Lombardia takes on particular value. The collaboration between the consular world and the Lombard production system not only facilitates investment opportunities and bilateral cooperation but also contributes to strengthening Lombardy’s role as a global platform for sustainable development, internationalisation, and shared growth,” commented the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps of Milan and Lombardy, Veronica Crego.
Prior to the roadshow presentation, the Confindustria Lombardia Presidential Council held a discussion on economic and commercial relations between Lombardy and the USA with the Director General of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, Simone Crolla, subsequently examining the prospects for tax relations between Italy and the USA with Prof. Guglielmo Maisto, Professor of Tax and International Law and member of the AmCham Board of Directors.
